Glenda Player — Head Trainer

Raised at Playland. Certified in biomechanics. Teaching the whole rider, from the ground up.

Head Trainer & Manager Glenda Player

Glenda Player is not a trainer who arrived at Playland — she grew up here. Raised on the property, she began riding as a young child and progressed through the Frederick Pony Club, earning her B-Rating and developing a foundation in horsemanship that goes far beyond arena skills.

Her focus has always been on the why behind movement. After completing a 500-hour course at the Mind Body Studies Academy and earning her C.O.R.E. Rider certification, she trained with world-renowned equine biomechanics expert Hillary Clayton — and the result is a coaching style that is precise, patient, and rooted in how riders and horses actually learn.

Glenda specialises in dressage, eventing, and show jumping — three disciplines she teaches with equal fluency. She has broken and brought along many of Playland's homebred horses, and she has taught throughout the United States and abroad.

She accepts all breeds and ages for customised training plans — from young horses being started under saddle to experienced competition horses looking to move up a level. Her FEI schoolmaster program is available to dressage riders at 2nd Level and above.

"Every horse tells you something. Every rider has a pattern they don't yet know about. My job is to listen before I instruct."
